On Wednesday 20th May there was great excitement on Vicarage Street as the Coffee Club prepared to go on Safari, waved off by the vicar.
The traffic was light, the sun was shining and Ian, the coach driver, was friendly and helpful (even though he got lost before we got out of Ilkeston!). En route we Sang-along-a-Max, everyone joining in.
On arrival we headed for the restaurant and enjoyed a meal together from fish and chips to ham salad followed by a cuppa. We were well looked after by the friendly staff.
Then it was time to go hunting with a ranger, so we piled back onto the coach making sure the door was firmly shut. We shot elephants, tigers, lions, rhino, deer, giraffes and other innocent animals: these can now be seen in the hall by the piano.
After another cuppa and ice creams we returned home having had a brilliant time.
